International Relations

International Relations (IR) is the study and practice of the interactions between sovereign states, as well as between non-governmental organizations, international organizations, and other global actors. It encompasses a wide range of issues, including diplomacy, conflict resolution, trade, human rights, and the effects of globalization. The field examines how countries cooperate and compete, the power dynamics inherent in their relationships, and the frameworks through which international order is maintained or challenged. Moreover, International Relations involves analyzing theories and concepts such as realism, liberalism, constructivism, and critical approaches, which seek to explain state behavior and the complex interplay of national interests and global systems. The discipline often draws upon history, political science, economics, and sociology to understand the multifaceted nature of global interactions and the implications for global peace, security, and development.
