Hydrogen Refinery

A hydrogen refinery is a facility designed to produce hydrogen fuel through various methods, typically from fossil fuels or renewable sources. The primary function of a hydrogen refinery is to extract hydrogen in a pure form, which can then be used for energy production, fuel cell applications, and chemical manufacturing. The processes used in a hydrogen refinery may include steam methane reformation (SMR), where natural gas is converted into hydrogen and carbon dioxide, and electrolysis, where water is split into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity. Hydrogen refineries play a crucial role in the transition to a low-carbon economy, as hydrogen is considered a clean fuel alternative that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions when produced sustainably.
